Regulation (EC) 1907/2006 concerning the Registration, Evaluation, Authorization and restriction of CHemicals (REACH) and Waste Framework Directive (WFD) - EU 2018-851

The Regulation, Evaluation, Authorization, and Restriction of Chemicals (REACH) is a European Community Regulation related to the safe use and identification of chemicals (Regulation (EC) Number 1907/2006).

REACH entered into force on June 1, 2007 with the aim of improving the protection of human health and the environment through better and earlier identification of the intrinsic properties of chemical substances.

The Waste Framework Directive (WFD) - EU 2018/851 asks Companies that produce, import or supply articles containing SVHC included in the Candidate List in a concentration above 0.1% (w/w) to submit information on articles and complex objects (products) placed on EU market in the SCIP Database (Substances of Concern In articles as such or in complex objects - Products).

This requirement is necessary to make this information available to waste treatment operators and consumers, to promote the reduction of waste generation containing hazardous substances by supporting the substitution of substances of concern in articles/complex objects.

VDS Rail confirms the compliance of all its products with this regulation and this directive.

Directive 2014/30/EU on Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC Directive)

VDS Rail submits its electrical and electronic products to a testing process to ensure that they do not cause and are not affected by electromagnetic interference.

Directive 2012/19/EU on Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE Directive)

The Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) Directive aims at encouraging the reuse and recycling of electrical and electronic equipment. In particular, the EU WEEE Directive requires that the Producer is responsible for the WEEE which the Producer has placed on the EU market after 13 August 2005. VDS Rail Srl, as an electronic producer, accepts and complies with the EU WEEE Directive.
