VDS Rail is an Italian company born in 1979. Since the foundation, VDS Rail has designed and manufactured electronic devices for Rolling Stock applications. The Quality Management System of VDS Rail has been certified by RINA and conforms to the UNI EN ISO 9001 and ISO/TS 22163 standards.
What we do
VDS Rail uses edge technology to railway onboard network applications and HMI devices, including ethernet Train Backbone Devices, Consist switches, LCD monitors, and Panel PCs. All products are compliant with EN 50155 standard.
VDS Rail 's products stand out for high performance and reliability achieved through rugged platforms, design experience, and particular care on product manufacturing.

VDS Rail Srl is an official member of UNIFE - The European Rail Supply Industry Association.
UNIFE represents the European rail manufacturing industry. The Association gathers over 100 of Europe's leading large and SME rail supply companies active in designing, manufacturing, maintaining, and refurbishing rail transport systems, subsystems, and related equipment. UNIFE also brings together 14 national rail industry associations of European countries. Its members have an 84% market share in Europe and supply 46% of rail equipment and services worldwide. The Association advocates its members’ interests at both the European and International level—actively promoting EU rail equipment and standards within Europe and abroad.

The American Public Transportation Association (APTA) is a nonprofit international association of more than 1,500 public and private sector member organizations. APTA is the only association in North America representing all modes of public transportation, including bus, paratransit, light rail, commuter rail, subways, waterborne services, and intercity and high-speed passenger rail. More than 90 percent of the people using public transportation in the United States and Canada ride APTA member systems.
VDS Rail Srl is an official member of DITECFER - District for Railway Technologies, High Speed, Networks' Safety & Security.
DITECFER is an association founded in 2014 on the initiative of 25 Tuscan companies and research bodies, as a spin-off of the Railway Technology District established by the Region of Tuscany 2011. Today the association extends beyond the Tuscan territory and groups together some of the most dynamic and collaborative companies and research organizations in Italy.
DITECFER aims to promote collaboration, innovation, research, and development among its members in order to make them more competitive and support their internationalization strategy and performance.
VDS Rail is an official member of ITxPT, a non-profit association that has become a leading network for the Standardization of IT systems in the Public Transport sector in Europe.
ITxPT's members liaise to develop the IT architecture for public transport and mobility services, based on standards and best practices.
The IPxPT membership brings numerous advantages: providing implementation details for EU standards together with innovation promotion, hardware standardization and facilitating software updates.
